How to Schedule an Appointment
Our office will attempt to schedule appointments that are convenient and fit into your busy schedule. We recommend that preschool age children be seen in the morning when they are well rested. This will allow us the opportunity to take more time with your child to assure that they are comfortable and therefore less anxious during treatment. Morning appointments work best for younger children as well. Dental appointments are an excused absence from school, and a doctor’s excuse will be provided by our office at the time of your child’s appointment.
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, and appreciate your cooperation.
Do I Stay with My Child During the Visit?
We suggest that you allow our staff to help your child overcome their anxiety during their dental experience. Each of our staff members are highly trained and experienced in providing your child the one-on-one attention that will calm their fears and make their visit to our office a comfortable one. Our office environment is designed for children, and studies have proven that children over the age of 2 years react more positively to their dental experience if allowed to receive treatment on their own while Mom and/or Dad wait in our waiting area.
First Visit
Parents should not make a big deal out of the visit and refrain from using any words that could cause unnecessary fear, such as “needle” or “drill.” We are experienced in dealing with children with anxiety and can explain treatment procedures in a positive and pleasant manner to avoid any anxious or negative feelings toward dentistry.

We will record the child’s dental and medical history, complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you. We will also review the importance of maintaining a good dental health program with you and your child to ensure a healthy and beautiful smile for life!
Insurance
It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget. We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs. Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. Discounts are available for payments made in cash. If you have any questions about financing or payment, ask us. We will thoroughly explain your choices and work hard to accommodate your needs.
If your insurance covers dental treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims as a courtesy to you.
Dr. Aarons is a preferred provider for Delta, Cigna PPO and DHA (Dental Health Alliance). We are a "Participating" provider with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas City. There are two levels of participation that a dentist may have with Blue Cross & Blue Shield. They are "Participating" and "Preferred".  When calling your insurance company ask what your benefit level would be at a "Participating" provider so you will know what percentages will be covered if you choose to come to our office.
To help us with your insurance filing, please complete the insurance questions on our questionnaire. .
Please remember that dental insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
